The Refugee & Migrant Rights Committee serves as Human Rights Solidarity’s frontline response to the growing erosion of protections for refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants in the United Kingdom. As (forced) displacement rises, and the rights and the needs of migrants are ignored, the need for organised, informed, and principled advocacy has become increasingly urgent.
The committee closely monitors legislative and policy changes, researches their implications on the communities we work with, engages the findings directly with Members of Parliament and coordinates with legal and civil society partners to deliver credible challenges.
Meanwhile, training programmes that equip refugees and migrants with a stronger understanding of their rights are routinely delivered.
In our aims to strengthen protection, community and resilience and lasting accountability, short and long-term projects of demonstrations, exhibitions, public events are also being planned.
In the core of all our work: we are committed to amplifying the voices of all migrants, regardless of their legal status.
