Empower and Educate Immigrant Families
In Wembley, Human Rights Solidarity partnered with United Way UK – Give Local and Costco to make a meaningful impact on the lives of immigrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking families. Their initiative aimed to help these families build essential knowledge, confidence, and connections within their community.
Throughout ten engaging workshops, families were empowered with important information about their rights, anti-discrimination protections, and access to vital services such as healthcare, education, and welfare. Each session was designed to feel safe and welcoming, complete with refreshments and multilingual support, ensuring that everyone felt included and comfortable.
For many, these workshops provided a unique opportunity to openly discuss the challenges they faced while settling in the UK, ask pressing questions, and share their experiences with others who understood their struggles. Parents walked away feeling more informed, children participated in fun and interactive activities, and families formed stronger bonds with local services, creating a supportive network that will help them thrive.
