The Legal Affairs Committee represents Human Rights Solidarity’s engagement with the architecture of justice, working with the institutions and individuals that determine whether the law protects the vulnerable or is misused against them. Operating at the intersection of legal scholarship, public advocacy, and direct action, the committee addresses issues of significant legal and human rights importance.
It monitors European Court of Human Rights judgments that member states have failed to implement, bringing these breaches to the attention of parliamentary bodies and the wider international legal community.
The committee also organises public demonstrations, most notably the Justice Wall series, combining artistic expression with advocacy to keep demands for accountability visible. Through partnerships with recognised legal bodies, it produces reports and joint statements.
It also supports lawyers and human rights defenders facing persecution, ensuring that those who defend rights are themselves protected through advocacy and sustained solidarity.
