The Women’s Rights Committee was established on the simple conviction that the treatment of women is one of the clearest measures of whether human rights are being upheld. Where women are silenced, excluded, or denied basic freedoms, human rights are failing regardless of what any policy document claims.

The Committee works on several fronts including public, policy, and community work. This includes participation in national marches and protests, supporting women worldwide in countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkey through targeted projects, as well as community work.

At a policy level, the Committee aims to contribute to equality for women through producing reports and research, and presenting findings across universities, think tanks, and parliament.

We recognise that for many of the women we work with who are migrants, refugees, and those facing legal uncertainty, gender inequality is compounded by displacement and an increasingly hostile political climate.

Meet Our Volunteer Team

Human Rights Solidarity is an organisation devoted to the activism and advocacy of Human Rights around the globe. HRS started off as an unincorporated organization in early 2020 and is aiming at being recognized and registered as a charitable incorporated organization in 2022.

We are independent. HRS is a self-organised and volunteer-led organisation. The only allegiance we have is to our foundational principles that are incorporated into our founding documents and the Solidarity Principles.
